Why I Upgraded to the Canon EOS R5
As a photographer specializing in dynamic subjects like sports, capturing fast-paced action with precision is paramount. My previous camera, the Canon EOS RP, served me well; however, its limitations in continuous shooting speed and autofocus began to hinder my ability to seize fleeting moments effectively. The EOS RP offers a continuous shooting speed of up to 5 frames per second and employs Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF system with 4,779 autofocus points. While adequate for general photography, it struggled with the rapid and unpredictable movements inherent in sports scenarios. Recognizing the need for a more robust solution, I transitioned to the Canon EOS R5. This camera boasts a remarkable 20 frames per second continuous shooting capability and an advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system with 5,940 autofocus points, ensuring rapid and accurate focus tracking even in the most challenging conditions. This upgrade has significantly enhanced my ability to capture sharp, high-quality images during fast-action events, aligning perfectly with the demands of sports photography.
